Replication is generally the standard for commercial releases. The replication process involves taking your master and creating a glass “stamper”. The stamper then will “stamp out” the disc copies, using plastics, metals, and bonding agents. Replicated discs are usually easily identified by the side of the disc that is read being silver. Replicated discs are ideal for jobs of 500 or more. Some of the advantages of replication are that there are no compatibility issues and the life span of a replicated disc is longer than the life of a duplicated one. The turn time of duplication is usually about 10-12 business days.
