The story begins with two pioneers in the industry.

Solomon J. Benatar, a visionary in professional post-production, helped establish one of Dallas’ earliest professional video editing facilities. Recognizing that professional-quality services shouldn’t be limited to major studios and broadcasters, he founded U-Edit Video in 1984 to bring those capabilities directly to families, creators, and small businesses.

At the same time, Bob and Daniel Redd founded Replicopy, originally as a 35mm motion picture laboratory. As video technology emerged, Replicopy evolved into one of the largest video duplication companies in the country. At its peak, the company operated more than 500 real-time video recorders and offered custom-loaded videotape solutions for clients ranging from businesses and organizations to media producers throughout the region.

As technology continued to evolve, so did both companies.

Today, Replicopy Tech operates as a division of U-Edit Video, bringing together decades of expertise in video production, duplication, preservation, restoration, archiving, and multimedia consulting under one trusted family-owned organization.
